2. Email contact and correspondence
- What data?
- Your name, email address, the content and attachments of your message, and anything else you share about yourself (e.g. company, role, phone number).
- For what purpose?
- To reply to your enquiry, send a quote, plan our work together and stay in contact during a contract. We also retain necessary records to meet accounting obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- On what legal basis?
- If you request a quote or enter into a contract with us as an individual, processing necessary for this relies on preparing or performing that contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). For other enquiries and company contact persons, we rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and maintaining business relationships (Article 6(1)(f)). Retaining records needed for legal claims also relies on legitimate interest; retaining accounting documents relies on a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- How long do we keep it?
- If no contract is concluded, we keep correspondence for a closed enquiry for no more than 1 year after the last exchange, then delete it. During a contract, we process contact data for the duration of our work together. Records needed for legal claims are retained until the relevant limitation period expires; the general period is 5 years from when a claim becomes due (section 6:22 of the Hungarian Civil Code), but disputes or interruption of the limitation period may affect this. Accounting documents are subject to retention of at least 8 years under section 169 of the Hungarian Accounting Act. Longer retention only covers data necessary for the relevant purpose.
- Is it mandatory?
- Contacting us is voluntary. We need a way to reach you to reply, and enough information about the task to prepare a quote. Without this, we may be unable to handle your enquiry.
3. Visiting this website
- No cookies or tracking code. We have not embedded analytics, advertising or social media tracking code in the website. Images and fonts are also served from our own hosting account.
- Theme choice. If you choose the light or dark theme, your browser remembers it in its own storage (localStorage). It never reaches us, and you can clear it in your browser at any time.
- Technical logs. Hosting and email services may produce logs containing IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser details, error messages and technical email delivery records. They support secure operation, troubleshooting and investigating abuse. Their legal basis is legitimate interest in these purposes (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Provider log retention depends on WebHostIcon’s logging and deletion settings. We delete records separately retained for our own troubleshooting when that task is closed, unless further retention is necessary for a specific legal claim.
- External sites. The LinkedIn and Facebook links take you to their own sites, where their privacy policies apply.
4. Who has access to the data?
Banári Web Kft. is responsible for the processing. We access data as needed to handle enquiries and our work together. We do not sell it or use it for newsletters or advertising.
WebHostIcon’s Webkobold hosting service provides this website’s hosting and email. We also maintain the domain through this provider. The provider acts as a data processor for the technical handling of hosted data and email.
